Proclamation - Arbor Day ~~~~p~ 7fJ1teua4, in 1872, J. Sterling Morton proposed to the Nebraska Board of Agriculture that a special day be set aside for the planting of trees; and 7fJ1teua4, this holiday, called Arbor Day, was first observed with the planting of more than a million trees in Nebraska; and 7fJ1teua4, Arbor Day is now observed throughout the nation and the world; and 7fJ1teua4, the quality of life and the beauty of Hopkins, is enhanced by the presence of trees; and 7fJ1teua4, trees contribute to the environmental and psychological well-being of Hopkins and enrich our lives in so many ways; and 7fJ1teua4, The City of Hopkins has been named "Tree City USA" for 29 consecutive years. ~, ~, in recognition of these fine qualities, be it resolved that I, Eugene J.
