MINUTES OF TIIE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, June 17, 2008
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 8:45 pm. Present were Mayor Maxwell and Council
members Halverson, Brausen, Rowan, Youakim and City Manager Rick Getschow.
Other:
Council member Halverson stated that she had come across a "Walkability" website that may be of
interest to the City of Hopkins.
City Manager Getschow stated that the staff and City Council had recently received a copy of the draft
"Being Green" Flyer. The consensus was that this is an excellent flyer and copies will be printed.
City Manager Getschow announced that the employee picnic is scheduled for Thursday, August 14t1i at
Valley Parlc.
Council member Brausen inquired about the work being done by the Three Rivers Park District at the
Depot. City Manager Getschow stated that some major HVAC work is being done and Three Rivers
needs to work closely with the Depot to ensure that the business has adequate storage space and that the
operations of the Depot can work smoothly with the Three Rivers projects taking place at the facility.
City Manager Getschow stated that he has been approached by Mainstreet Bar and Grill regarding
changing the gambling premises permit for pull tabs from one service organization to another. The City
Clerk and City Manager advised the owner of his options and city/state requirements. There was general
Council discussion regarding the charitable gambling operations throughout the City of Hopkins.
With no further business, a motion was made by Brausen, seconded by Youakim to adjourn the meeting. Z'he
motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 9:3 5 pm.
