Approve Amendment Residential Curbside Recycling Service Contract; Stadler April 6, 2021 Council Report 2021-043 APPROVE AMENDMENT TO RESIDENTIAL CURBSIDE RECYCLING SERVICE CONTRACT Proposed Action Staff recommends the following motion: Approve amendment to residential curbside recycling service contract. Overview The City of Hopkins’ contract with Waste Management for residential curbside recycling service expired March 31, 2021. The City is moving forward in a new contract with Republic Services for residential curbside recycling services. In order to facilitate a smooth transition, City staff request that an amendment to extend the contract with Waste Management for one month be approved. The final week of Waste Management recycling collection will be April 26, 2021. (“Contractor”) and the City of Hopkins, Minnesota (“City”). Recitals A. City and Contractor entered into the Residential Recycling Service Contract (“Agreement”) on or about March 21, 2016 (collectively, the “Agreement”); and, B. City and Contractor desire to extend the term of the Agreement, as further discussed below. Agreement The parties agree to amend the Agreement in the following manner: 1) The term of the Agreement shall be renewed for an additional one-month period, through April 30, 2021. 2) The Contractor’s service fee for Recyclables collection commencing April 1, 2021 will be $5.40 per month for Single Family service. 3) Except as modified herein, the terms and conditions of the Agreement shall continue in full force and effect.
