CR 2004-028 Hours of Operation . February 23, 2004 Council Report 2004-28 First Reading Ordinance 2004-918, Ordinance Amending Section 1200.46, Subd. 4. b. - Hours of Operation Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to adopt Ordinance 2004- 918, Ordinance Amendinq Section 1200.46 of the Hopkins City Code for First Readinq. Overview Last year, the City Council approved an ordinance that allows bars and restaurants to extend the legal closing time for one hour to 2:00 a.m. The ordinance contained a sunset clause for June 30, 2004. If the ordinance does not change, 2:00 a.m. closings will end on June 30th. This ordinance will allow the 2:00 a.m. closing to continue. . Primary Issues to Consider The Police Department has reviewed the issue and has found no reason to not continue the 2:00 a.m. bar closing. Chief Reid stated that they have not experienced increased activity and there are no concerns about parking. SupportinQ Documents .
