Council/Staff Retreat
The purpose of this discussion is to outline the next steps of the Vision Process, and to
identify the potentials of a Council/Staff retreat.
Vision Process:
The public input process of identifying and adopting a vision statement has concluded.
The next step would be to identify a strategy for implementing the Vision. The
implementation should be both internal and external to the City of Hopkins
organization. It has been suggested that a retreat be utilized as a way of identifying the
methods to be employed.
Retreat:
I would suggest that we concentrate on both the timing and the structure of the retreat.
My goal was to identify specific actions the City would take to seek achievement of the
Vision. By doing this early in the year, it would be possible to incorporate the ideas into
the 2002 budget should it be necessary. .
I would appreciate the Council setting clear objectives for the retreat and assisting in
it's planning.
