Continued discussions - HCA Success discussions
We will continue our discussions about. Hopkins Center for the Arts Success. We
currently have finished discussions about three areas of success with four to go.
After concluding the statements we will then discuss three questions:
1. What needs to be done in order to achieve success as defined in the statements?
2. Who (individual or organization) needs to be involved in the process of finding
solutions to the success statements?
3. What are the initial steps to be taken?

Success is: A Vision shared by all parties; Tenants, Staff, Council,
Users, Community, etc.
Financial
1. Annual facility fundraiser with involvement of all community
2. Available/affordable to community groups/users
3. City does not have to subsidize the HCA
Programming
1. "Balance" between tenants and community, providing more time and variety of
programming for the community.
2. Developing a youth arts group (club/organization) and serious youth arts
initiative beyond current groups.
3. Expanding concert series to other areas of entertainment; e.g. music, lectures,
comedy.
4. Openness to art at all levels of expertise.
5. Greater use of HCA as a place for business activities.
Building/ Facility
6. Better exterior signage and advertising.
7. Facilty would be changed/renovated to improve it's usability and effectivness for
multiple uses.
8. HCA has a welcoming atmosphere with directional signage/equipment in the
lobby, and a "concierge/greeter" on the first floor at busy times.
9. No more white walls (add art, color and excitement, starting with the Community
Room and the Classroom.
Tenant! Community Users
24. All rooms are in use, all the time
