MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, August 19, 2008
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 8:3 5 pm. Present were Mayor Maxwell and Council
members Halverson, Brausen, Rowan and City Manager Rick Getschow and Director of Public Works

• Steve Stadler discussed the process for city crews removing diseased trees based on questions that have
been asked regarding removal of diseased boulevard trees.
• City Manager Getschow stated that based on the availability of Council Members, the work session of
September 30t" may be cancelled. Work session items can be added at the end of regular meetings in the
month of September.
City Manager Getschow stated that information about carbon monoxide detectors had been placed on the
website, in the City newsletter and in the Sun Sailor. The Mayor requested some feedback on the
enforcement of the new legislation.
• Council Member Brausen stated that he felt the City picnic was a success and it seemed that attendance
was up.
City Manager Getschow stated that the City Council will meet at the August 26t~' Worlc Session at 6:00
pm at L.A. Fitness.
• City Manager Getschow stated that the Friday Update should have included the information about the
Hopkins Arches or Second Street Station that had arisen from the tour at the previous work session.
City Manager Getschow discussed with the City Council the potential redevelopment of the BP gas
station property at the corner of Blake Rd. and Highway 7. Council stated that the Plan Commission
may need to review the potential future land use of that site.
With no further business, a motion was made by Brausen, seconded by Halverson to adjourn the meeting. The
motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 pm.
