October 12, 2000 kOPK1NS Council Report 2000-175 Authorize Final Payment 3rd St. North Sanitary Sewer Reconstruction Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that Council adopt Resolution 2000 - 78, Resolution Accepting Work and Orderin~ Final Payment, 3rd St. North Sanitary Sewer Reconstruction, Project 99-12. Overview The contractor has completed reconstruction of sanitary sewer main in 3rd S1. North and performed on punch list items to the City's satisfaction. Primary Issues to Consider . Accepting work and final payment The contractor has met all contract obligations. The work is done satisfactorily. Documents still forthcoming before a final check can be issued are lien waivers (or Consent of Surety), forms IC - 134, and a signed certificate of completion. In the meantime staff recommends approval for final payment. . . Resolution 2000 - 78 Adoption of this resolution formally acknowledges completion of the work, orders final payment, and initiates a one - year warranty on the contract work. Supporting Information . North SANITARY SEWER RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT 99 -12 WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract signed with the City on June 20, 2000, Infrastructure Technologies, Inc. has satisfactorily completed reconstruction of sanitary sewer main in 3rd St. North, commonly known as City Project 99 -12, in accordance with such contract, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF HOPKINS, MINNESOTA: 1. The work completed under said contract is hereby declared accepted and approved. 2. Order for final payment on such contract is hereby ordered, taking the contractor's receipt in full. . 3. A one - year warranty on contract work shall commence as of this resolution. Adopted by the City Council of Hopkins, Minnesota this 1 ih day of October; 2000. Eugene J.
