Public Safety Communications Center Study
Date:
Subject:
The Hopkins Police Department embarked on a staff study and research project on April 5, 1999, in
accordance with Council guidance. The purpose of this staff study was to research and determine
options, and potential savings, in out-sourcing Public Safety Communications or maintaining the current
operations. The attached packet contains the results, in presentation format, of the staff study.
This final presentation, in Information Briefing format, was reviewed and fine-tuned in several meetings of
the PSCC study Committee, consisting of Sergeant Gordon Wiborg, Fire Chief Don Beckering, Assistant
Fire Chief Dave Klocek, Water Superintendent Mike Lauseng, Assistant to the City Manager Jim Parsons,
and PSO Shayne Curtis.
We respectfully request to stage the attached PowerPoint slide presentation at the Hopkins City Council
Work Session Tuesday evening, August 10,1999. Thank you for this opportunity.
