Long Range Planning Consultant Interviews
The City Council has indicated a desire to do long range planning. Attached is an
outline of a potential process that was reviewed by the City Council and considered an
appropriate process to discuss with potential consultants.
Since that discussion, the City Manager has been contacting and discussing this
process with various consultants. Interviews have been scheduled for the work session
of August 31, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Three consultants were contacted and scheduled
for interviews. Since that time, one of the consultants has dropped from consideration
stating that the process would not fit well with her scheduling and would prefer to drop
out of consideration. Therefore, at this time there are two consultants who have agreed
to submit proposals for this work.
The consultants were given the opportunities to submit information in advance, should
they wish to, or to bring things to the meeting. Mr. Tom Allen has submitted information
and that is also attached to this memorandum.
Staff has scheduled 20 minutes for each interview, allowing 10 to 15 minutes for
presentation and 5 to 10 minutes for questions and discussion. At the conclusion of the
interviews I have left time for Council discussion and direction to the staff.
