1997 ALLEY RECONSTRUCTION
PROJECT 97-02
Prouosed Action.
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that
Council adopt Resolution 97-113 Resolution Accepting Work and
Ordering Final PaXment 1997 Ally Improvements
Overview.
The contractor has completed work associated with reconstructing
east-west alleys north of Mainstreet between 17th and 21st Avenues
North. The contractor has performed on punch list items to the
City's satisfaction.
Primary Issues to Consider.
Accepting work and final payment
The contractor has met his contract work obligations. The
work is done satisfactorily. The total construction contract
cost, including change order work to apply linseed
oil/solvent sealant, amounted to $93,740.14. This compares
to the original contract amount of $97,279.90.
Documents still needed are lien wavers, IC-134 withholding
forms and a signed Certificate of Final Completion. The
contractor is currently gathering that information. Staff
recommends approval of final payment with a check tendered
upon receipt of the above documents.
Resolution 97-113
Adoption of this resolution formally acknowledges completion
of work, orders final payment and initiates a specified
warranty period on the contract work.
