AUTHORIZE FINAL PAYMENT
MEADOWBROOR STORM SEWER
Proposed Aetion.
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that
Council adopt Resolution 97-118, Resolution Acceptina Work and
Orderina Final Payment, Meadowbrook Storm Sewer.
Overview.
The contractor has completed the installation of a storm sewer
system from the end of Homedale Road to the Meadowbrook Golf
Course. The contractor has performed on punch list items to the
engineer's satisfaction.
Primary Issues to Consider.
Compensating change order
The final contract work performed totaled $49,154.40.
This was $616.90 greater than the contracted amount. This
amount falls within the 5% limit Council has granted to
staff for authorization without its formal approval.
Staff has already authorized the change order.
Accepting work and final payment
The contractor has met all his contract obligations. To
date no lien wavers or IC-134 forms have been submitted.
No check will be issued until those forms are submitted.
Staff recommends approval of final payment.

Adoption of this resolution formally acknowledges
completion of work, orders final payment, and initiates a
warranty period on the contract work as detailed in the
project specifications.

RESOLUTION 97-118
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK & ORDERING FINAL PAYMENT--
MEADOWSROOR STORM SEWER
WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract signed with the City
on October 7, 1996, Bonine Excavating, Inc. has satisfactorily
completed the improvement of storm sewer installation commonly
known as City Project 95-15, in accordance with such contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Hopkins,. Minnesota:
1. The work completed under said contract is hereby
accepted and approved.
2. Order for final payment on such contract is hereby
ordered, taking the contractor's receipt in full.
3. The specified warranty period on contract work shall
commence upon the adoption of this resolution.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota,
this 16th day of December, 1997.
