Overview
AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE SUB -GRANT AGREEMENT
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve Resolution 98 -05
authorizing Lori Yager, Finance Director to execute the Sub -Grant Agreement with the
Division of Emergency Management in the Minnesota Denartment of Public Safety for the
program entitled Infrastructure Program for FEMA 1187 -DR- MINNESOTA.
Adoption of this motion will result in the staff forwarding the appropriate documentation
to the Minnesota Division of Emergency Management for completion of the Sub -grant
Agreement.
In September of 1997, Steve Stadler, Public Works Director, applied for a Sub -Grant
through the Division of Emergency Management for Federal Emergency Management
Assistance for wind and flood damage during the storms of 1997.
The total damage costs were reported at $44,620. We have been granted to receive a
federal share of $33,286 and a state share of $6,401 for a total grant of $39,687.
At the writing of this report, $31,543 of project costs included in the grant application have
been incurred.
Primary Issues to Consider
• The entire federal share of the grant will be issued as soon as the Sub -Grant Agreement
has been fully executed.
• The balance of the grant will be issued upon completion of the "Project Completion
and Certification Report".

RESOLUTION 98 -05
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF SUB -GRANT AGREEMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HOPKINS, MINNESOTA, that the
City of Hopkins enter into a Sub -grant Agreement with the Division of Emergency Management in the
Minnesota Department of Public Safety for the program entitled Infrastructure Program for FEMA 1187 -
DR- MINNESOTA.
Lori Yager, Finance Director is hereby authorized to execute and sign such Sub -grant Agreements and
amendments as are necessary to implement the project on behalf of the City of Hopkins.
I certify that the above resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins at the hearing
of the Council held this 3rd day of February, 1998.
