Attached is the proclamation declaring February 12, 1998 as Caring Youth Day.
This is the third year that the city of Hopkins has sponsored and organized the Caring
Youth Awards, along with the cities of Minnetonka and Golden Valley, and the Hopkins
and Minnetonka School Districts.
The Caring Youth Awards are designed to honor young people who unselfishly have
been involved in a cause or situation benefiting others.
This year's awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at the
Minnetonka Community Center. This year's emcee is Mary Hepokowski, who is serving
as honorary chair of the Caring Youth Day. The keynote speaker is WCCO
meteorologist Paul Douglas.

gratitude for the accomplishments of these
outstanding young people;

to be Caring youth Day, and call upon their citizens
to join in this salute to all caring youth.
