OCTOBER 24, 2022
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Hopkins Park Board was
held on Monday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1010 1 st
Street South.
Chair Meg Slindee called the meeting to order with Commissioners Miller, Stiele, Waitz,
and Hanneman and youth member Johnson. Staff present included Management Analyst
Why Bean.
ADOPT AGENDA
Motion by Waitz. Second by Hanneman.
Motion to Adopt the Agenda.
Ayes: All.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
No public comment.
CONSENT AGENDA
Motion by Waitz. Second by Stiele.
Motion to Approve the Consent Agenda.
1. Minutes of the September 26, 2022 Park Board
Ayes: All.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
GENERAL BUSINESS
Review Annual Calendar and Adopt 2023 Work Plan
Members of the Park Board reviewed the draft work plan and annual calendar presented
by Analyst Imihy Bean. Members were in agreement that the revised work plan
incorporated their thoughts and ideas from previous meetings.
Motion by Stiele. Second by Waitz.
Motion to approve the draft work plan and annual calendar for 2023 to be reviewed
by the City Council at their meeting on November 9, 2022
Ayes: All.
Nays: None. Motion carried.

GENERAL PARK UPDATE
Minnetonka Recreation Update
Analyst Why Bean presented an update on behalf of Hopkins -Minnetonka recreation
which highlighted the start of youth basketball, adult basketball and co-rec soccer, and
registration information for swimming lessons.
Master Park System Plan Update
Analyst Why Bean shared that on the November 9, 2022, City Council meeting she
would provide a quick update on the engagement numbers and high-level themes which
have shown up throughout engagement on the plan. She also shared that the
consultant, Confluence, would be present at the upcoming Park Board meeting on
November 28tH
PARK AREA ASSIGNMENT REPORTS
The Park Board drew park names from a hat to reassign park area assignments to
members. The following are the re -assignments:
Meg Slindee: Burnes, Buffer
Kimberly Stiele: Park Valley, Oakes
Kristin Hanneman: Maetzold, Valley
Emily Waitz: Harley, Elmo
Matthew Miller: Downtown, Central
Carsyn Johnson: Cottageville, Minnehaha Creek Preserve
Future Board Member 1: Interlachen, Hiawatha
Future Board Member 2: Shady Oak Beach, Hilltop
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Park Board and upon a motion by
Waitz, second by, the meeting was unanimously adjourned.
