02-03-09 WSFebruary 3, 2008 Page 1 MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING Tuesday, February 3, 2009 Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 9:5 S pm. Present were Mayor Maxwell and Council members Halverson, Brausen, Youakim, Rowan and City Manager Rick Getschow Other: The Council briefly discussed any potential transportation or infrastructure funding that could come from the federal government. There was a discussion about the availability of the funds that will most likely come through the State. Getschow stated that more information on this issue will be coming soon. City Manager Getschow stated that he is developing a schedule for meetings with the staff in anticipation of the State of the City address. He will be talking with all city departments about the financial situation that the City is in and the goals that we have moving forward. Council members will be invited to attend these meetings, if they desire. City Manager Getschow stated that Representative Simon and Senator Latz will be at the next Council work session. A draft legislative agenda will be provided. Council can certainly provide feedback on that agenda and more items may be placed on that agenda before it is finalized. City Manager Getschow stated that the Hopkins Business and Civic Association annual meeting is to take place on February 12th. Council members are encouraged to let Getschow know if they wish to attend. With no further business, a motion was made by Youakim, seconded by Halverson to adjourn the meeting.
