Proclamation - Empty Bowls?i 4kW, Q, Empty Bowls is an international grassroots project to raise funds for
local food shelves; and
W��, the first ten years of Empty Bowls has raised $394,078; and
U��, 26% of Hopkins School District students receive free or reduced
price lunches. ICA distributed 686,673 pounds of emergency food in 2008, an
increase of 25% over 2007. Financial aid increased 38% last year to a total of
$346,220; and
?ir/�ktLead, our goal is to raise $50,000 for the emergency funds of the
Intercongregation Community Association (ICA) and the Hopkins Minnetonka
Family Resource Center; and
V46W W, Empty Bowls is hosting the 11th annual event, inviting everyone to
come to the Hopkins Center for the Arts on Tuesday, March 24 to choose a bowl
from among 1200 bowls created by local artist and students, eat your choice of
soup and bread donated by our businesses. You can make a generous free will
donation; and

hereby proclaim Tuesday, March 24, 2009:
In the City of Hopkins, and does also encourage all citizens to participate in the
activities associated with Empty Bowls Day.
