OAKES PARK OUTDOOR TENNIS COURT
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adopting the following motion: IIAward the contract
for installation of the Oakes Park Outdoor Tennis Court to Dermco
Construction Co. in the amount of $26.653.0011.
Overview
As part of the 1995 Capital Improvement Program, a replacement Tennis
Court was approved by the city for Oakes Park.
Bids for the outdoor Tennis Court were received and opened on August
24, 1995. Bid results are as follows:

The amount budgeted for this improvement was $18,000. Dermco
Construction Co. was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $26,653.00.

Dermco construction Co. has good references and experience with
this type of project. This bid was submitted with the required
bid security and by a qualified contractor that has done work for
the city before. Dermco Construction Co. (DBA Carson Lavine,
Inc.) installed the tennis courts at Central, Burnes and Oakes
Park.

DESCRIPTION:
Tennis court replacement at Oakes Park with some miscellaneous concrete and
fence work. Resurface Central Park Tennis Court with new color coat and lines.

USTIFICA TION:
Oakes tennis courts are cracked badly, with substantial settling on edges; resurfacing
is not an option.
Central tennis courts are fading and showing wear, resurfacing at this time may prolong
the life of the courts through the year 2000.
