made application for final payment. Their work includes several
extras that are detailed in Change Order No.1.
Primary Issues to Consider.
. Nature of change order items and funding
. The parks superintendent has prepared the attached support
memorandum that summarizes the work, the dollar
deletion/addition, and justification of the work done. The
changes are generally summarized as those driven by unanticipated
field conditions. Ample contingency funds are available in the
total Maetzold Field project budget to cover the additional
change order costs.

and fair. staff recommends approval of this change order for

ATTACHMENT FOR CHANGE ORDER NO 1
MAETZOLD FIELD PROJECT
BITUMINOUS CONSULTING AND CONTRACTING
4Il This change order is necessary to close out the second and final phase of
the Maetzold Field redevelopment. The change order covers both deletions
and additions, resulting in a total addition to the project of
$10,462.48. The breakdown of the listed items with an explanation of
each follows: .
DELETIONS:
1) Concrete Curb - $240 delete
Actual lineal footage poured was 20 ft less than proposed.
2) 2.5" Bituminous Trail without base - $1,180 delete
site conditions which showed up during construction required trail to be
installed with a base material.
ADDITIONS:
1) Common Excavation
2) Granular Borrow
3) Class 5
4) Imported top soil - Total 1-4: $3,595 addition
tit These four items were all required in order to change the grade for the
northeast corner service road/pedestrian path.
5) 4" Concrete - $433.10 addition
Actual concrete square footage poured under and around shelter and
players benches was 122 square feet more than what the plans showed.
6) 2.5" Bituminous Trail with base - $4,396.68 addition
A combination of changing 200 feet of trail without base to 200 feet of
trail with base and changing the service road from 8' to 10' wide.
7) Concrete Maintenance strip - $209 addition
Actual lineal feet poured was 38 feet more than called for in plan
drawings. These maintenance strips go under all fencing for the
ballfields.
8) Sod - $3,248.70 addition
This addition was necessary to re-sod the water and sewer excavation
coming into the shelter from 14th Ave No. Although this was anticipated,
it was originally going to be funded from general line item budgets. We
felt it was more appropriate to have the contractor already on site do
4Itthe work, and include the costs on this project. This resulted in 1,326
square yards of sod in addition to what the plans called for.
