SUPPORT FOR HENNEPIN COUNTY
FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION GRANT APPLICATION
Council Report: 95 -234
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: "Move to
approve Resolution No. 95 -119 supporting Hennepin County's
a••lication for federal fundin• throu•h the ISTEA Federal Fundin
Program for Shady Oak Road from County Road 3 to Trunk Highway
Hennepin County considered County Road 3 future projects and
Shady Oak Road as candidate ISTEA projects. Based on their
internal review which considers all Federal qualifying and
prioritizing categories, Shady Oak Road scored the highest.
Primary Issues to Consider
o If successful, when would Federal funds be available?
Funds would be available in Federal fiscal years 1999 and
2000.
When will we know if the project is approved by Metropolitan
Council
Met Council will approve selected projects in late Spring,
1996.

RESOLUTION NO. 95 -119
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING ISTEA GRANT APPLICATION
FOR SHADY OAK ROAD
WHEREAS, the City of Hopkins has a capital improvement plan that
calls for the improvement of Shady Oak Road from County
Road 3 to Trunk Highway 7, and
WHEREAS, there are deficiencies in Shady Oak Road regarding
roadway conditions, traffic /pedestrian movement, safety
and aesthetics; and
WHEREAS, the City of Hopkins has continually strived to work
with Hennepin County to facilitate the improvement of
collector and arterial roadways.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HOPKINS, MINNESOTA:
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota,
this 19th day of December 1995.
