CR 95-214 Gambling License American LegionNovember 28, 1995
Proposed Action
Staff recommends that the Council approve the following motion: Move that the Hopkins City Council adopt
Resolution #95 -109 approving the gambling license application of the American Legion.
Adoption of this motion will allow the application to be considered by the Minnesota Department of Gaming.
Overview
The American Legion has requested a renewal of their gambling license for 1996 and 1997. This license
allows them to conduct gambling at 10 12th Avenue South.
Primary Issues to Consider
Does this application meet the criteria of the City's gambling policy?
Yes.
Has the organization conducted its past gambling activities in accordance with state and local laws?
Yes.
Alternatives:
1. Approve Resolution #95 -109. This will result in the application being considered by the Department
of Gaming.
2. Do not approve the Resolution. This will result in the Department of Gaming turning down the
license.
Staff recommends Alternative #1.
