RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL LEGISLATION
RE: HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE SUBDISTRICTS
Proposed Action.
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: "Resolution
No. 94-75 approving of special law as recorded in the Laws of
Minnesota. Chapter 375. Article 14. section 21."
Overview
Last year, the city received approval of legislation allowing
the city to create a hazardous substance subdistrict on the
Hopkins Teeh Center, Napeo, and other adjacent property. The
intent of this legislation was to provide the city a tool to
facilitate the financing of environmental remediation, should it
be required on these properties.
In conjunction with the approval of this legislationr the City
. is required to adopt a resolution approving and accepting the
special legislation. As the City council has previously gone on
record authorizing staff to solicit such legislation, the action
as presently proposed is only a required formality.
