Staff recommends the following motion: Move that the Hopkins City Council approve
Ordinance #94-744 for second readina and order published.
This action will continue the process of amending Section 925 of the Hopkins City Code
to limit the number of cats and dogs in a household.
The wording of the ordinance has been changed slightly on the advice of the City
Attorney.

ORDINANCE NO. 94-744
.AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE MAXIMUM
NUMBER OF CATS AND DOGS IN A HOUSEHOW
The City Council of the City of Hopkins does hereby ordain:
SECTION 1. That Section 925.34 be amended to read as follows:
925.24. Maximum Number of Dogs and Cats. No person shall keep,
harbor or maintain more than tHO dogo four animals over the age
of six months, of which no more than two may be dogs, within or
upon the property of any individual dwelling unit within the City
of Hopkins. For purposes of this section an animal is defined as
a domestic dog or cat.
SECTION 2. The effective date of this ordinance shall be twenty
days after publication.
