HOPKINS TECH CENTER
Proposed Action.
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to
Resolution No. 94-16 approvinq the classification of
non-conservation of tax forfeit land within the City of Hopkins
and purchase of said classified land by the Hopkins Housing and
Redevelopment Authoritv ( HRA) .
This resolution, if approved, will be forwarded to the Hennepin
County Board for action to approve sale of subject property to
the HRA.
Overview
This action if approved by the city Council needs to be
undertaken in conjunction with the HRA approvals of items 94-06,
94-07, and 94-08. Action on this item involves the following as
. relates to the Hopkins Tech Center, 1600 Second Street south:
Authorize the HRA to purchase the subject property from
0
Hennepin County for the purpose of reconveyance to
Venturian Corporation.
0 Classification of the subject property as
non-conservation in accordance with the State statute.
This is basically making a finding that the property is
not a wetlands or other protected property.

RESOLUTION NO. 94-19
RESOLUTION DIRECTING AND APPROVING CLASSIFICATION OF
NON-CONSERVATION TAX FORFEITED LANDS WITHIN THE
CITY OF HOPKINS AND PURCHASE OF SUCH CLASSIFIED
LANDS BY HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
IN AND FOR THE CITY OF HOPKINS, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, the following described premises are tax forfeited
lands located within the City of Hopkins located at 1600 2nd Street
South, Hopkins, Minnesota 55343 and 11301 Excelsior Boulevard,
Minnetonka, Minnesota 55343.

WHEREAS, said property located within the City of Hopkins has
been deemed to be non-conservation lands pursuant to the provisions
. of Minnesota Statutes.
WHEREAS, said property is tax forfeited land.
WHEREAS, said lands are or may be environmentally contaminated
requiring compliance with environmental statutes, rules and
regulations for clean-up and remediation of said lands.
WHEREAS, the Housing And Redevelopment Authority in and for
the City of Hopkins, Minnesota has approved various actions whereby
they agreed to apply to Hennepin County for purchase of said lands
and has agreed to thereafter reconvey said lands to accomplish such
clean-up and remediation of contaminates as may be required by
appropriate state agencies empowered to regulate and enforce such
remediation.

. l. The City Council of the City of Hopkins finds and declares
such property to be classified as non-conservation and hereby
authorizes the Housing And Redevelopment Authority in and for the
City of Hopkins, Minnesota to apply to Hennepin County for purchase
of the properties legally described on Attachment A for the
purposes expressed above subject only to the following conditions:
a. Subject to Hennepin County Board approval of non-conservation
classification and sale of lands;
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins on the 15th
day of February, 1994.
