Subject: Jaycees Tent Dances
The Hopkins Jaycees have requested to use lot 300 for the two tent dances that will be
held during Raspberry Festival. The dances will be held on July 8th and 9th and July
15th and 16th. The City Council is being requested to approve the use of this lot.
At one time there was a plan to hold at least one of the dances in Central Park. This is
difficult due to the fact that the hockey rink area, which is used for the tent, has only two
exits. Five ten foot wide exits are required by the fire code. In order to fully comply
with the fire code, major work would have to be done on the hockey rink.
. The Jaycees have been informed of the need to accommodate the businesses that rely
on lot 300. Room will also have to be made for the Farmers' Market. A representative
of the Jaycees will be available to answer questions.

Those events which are not sponsored by the City shall file with the City a Public liability insurance policy, or
evidence thereof, in the amount of $600,000 for one claimant and $600,000 for any number of claimants. The
applicant and the City shall be named as joint insured on the liability policy.
This permit may be rendered void if any of the following conditions are found to exist at the site of the special
event:
1. The commission of the crime of assault, disorderly conduct, or breach of the peace by any person present;
2. The consumotion or oossession of alcoholic bevera es b any oerson who is under the leaal drinkin aoe.
