. Analysis of Issues
0 Should the apparent low bid be awarded at this time?
Hopkins Area Little League (H.A.L.L.) is scheduled to
complete their use of Maetzold Field for the season by July
18th. The Hopkins-Minnetonka Recreation Department
(R.M.R.D. ) anticipates scheduling the soccer field for play
yet this fall. An award of bid at this time will allow
enough time to complete contract documents and installation
of ballfield lighting before the R.M.R.D. needs lights yet
this fall, or early next spring for H.A.L.L.
0 Should the apparent low bid be awarded to Electric Service
company of Minneapolis, Inc.?
The bids were properly advertised and opened, with no
irregularities observed. The electrical firm hired by staff
to prepare the technical specifications for electrical
construction; Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, Inc. has
recommended Electric Service Company of Minneapolis, Inc.
for the proj ect. Musco Lighting, Inc. which is supplying
the fixtures for this project has also recommended Electric
Service company of Minneapolis, Inc.
e Staff recommends the award of bid, the bid amount is within
the engineer's estimate and the firm has a reputation of
quality work in the metropolitan area.
