Memo Proclamation Presentation Nine Mile Creek
~ CITY OF HOPKINS
MEMORANDUM
DATE: July 14, 1994
TO: Mayor and city council
FROM: Lee Gustafson, Public Works Director.~
. vIr
SUBJECT: Proclamation Presentation to Nine Mile Creek
Watershed District
The Nine Mile Creek Watershed District Board of Managers are
deserving of a city Proclamation for all of the support and
assistance they gave the city over the last two years.
Their efforts were instrumental ln getting a complicated
flood control proj ect approved and constructed in a very
short time frame. These efforts proved to be priceless this
spring when the new improvements easily handled the heavy
rains which may have previously flooded out some properties.
. The efforts of the Board of Managers and the Hopkins city
Council ln this proj ect are a perfect example of how two
governmental agencies can work together to produce good
results. Many times agencies are criticized for not working
together, or working against each other. In this' case, the
Nine Mile Creek Watershed District Board of Managers and the
Hopkins City council wrote the definition of cooperation.
