Sixteen nominations fur the 1994 Hopkins Community Image Awards were received and judged by the
HCIA Review Committee. The Committee recommended seven propenies for awards, and they are as

WOODHILL FINANCIAL, INC. HAS BEEN LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN HOPKINS FOR
OVER SIX YEARS. WHEN OUR LEASE WAS UP, WE DECIDED TO REMAIN A PART
OF THE HOPKINS BUSINESS COMMUNITY AND PURCHASED A PROPERTY AT 17
SOUTH TENTH AVENUE.
THIS BUILDING WAS BUILT IN 1920 AND HAD STOOD VACANT AND LARGELY
UNTENDED FOR SEVERAL YEARS. CONSEQUENTLY IT WAS IN NEED OF DRASTIC
RENOVATION - BOTH INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR.
WE REHABILITATED THE EXISTING STRUCTURE AND AT THE SAME TIME,
RETAINED ITS UNIQUE EXTERIOR STYLE WHILE DRESSING IT UP WITH LARGER
WINDOWS, CEDAR SHAKES AND PARK LIKE TRIM.
THE INTERIOR WAS BROUGHT INTO THE NEXT CENTURY WITH ENERGY
EFFICIENT LIGHTING AND INNOVATIVE AND SOPHISTICATED BUSINESS
INTERIOR, KEEPING WITH THE LATEST TRENDS IN OFFICE DESIGN.
WE KNOW WE HAVE HAD A SIGNIFICANT, POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE IMAGE OF
. THE CITY OF HOPKINS. THIS IS ATTESTED TO BY THE FACT THAT NOT A
DAY GOES BY WITHOUT SOME PASSERBY STOPPING TO COMPLIMENT WHAT WE
HAVE DONE.
WE FEEL WE HAVE ADDED TO THE VALUE OF ALL PROPERTIES ON TENTH
AVENUE SOUTH. WE HAVE ALSO MADE SITTING IN THE DOWNTOWN PARK
EASIER ON THE EYES.

Dear Kirsten,
I would like to nominate Zion Church to receive the Hopkins Image Award this
year. In the years that I have lived in Hopkins, they have always had lovely
grounds but this year everything looks outstanding!
Their grass is perfectly groomed and their flowers are just beautiful. Their
buildings, grounds, and parking lot are flawlessly manicured.
Zion Church is certainly an assett to our community. Living at Ramsgate, we
drive by on our way to downtown Hopkins frequently. We also bike ride to
Burnes Park. In doing so we always slow down a little to admire their flowers.
I am sure that many other Hopkins residents enjoy the same pleasure. Home
owners in the neighborhood surrounding the church are very lucky to have
such a view.
For these reasons I would like to see Zion Church receive the Image Award
for adding beauty to our Hopkins community.
