SET DATE FOR 1993 COUNCIL /STAFF CONFERENCE
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to
set March 5th and 6th as meetin• with the Cit
Council to conduct the annual /Staff conference,
times and locations to be„cietermined.
Adoption of this motion Will allow Council and staff to set
their calendars for the annual Council /staff conference.
The City Manager and Mayor will begin work on the agenda and
times and locations for the meeting.
Overview
It has been attempted to annually hold a Council /staff
conference. This event has typically been a two day
intensive workshop to deal with issues relating to the City
of Hopkins.
The conference has typically been a relaxed worksession
setting deals with issues related to the goals and
objectives of the city as well as internal team building and
relationship issues.
The department heads have discussed the timing for this
issue and are recommending March 5th and 6th. This is a
Friday and Saturday schedule.
Primary Issues to Consider
o Do the dates coincide with the Council's personal
calendars?
o How will the location and times be established?
The Mayor and City Manager will discuss ways in which to set
an agenda and to determine an appropriate location for this
event. Last year's event was held at the Oak Ridge
Conference Center in Chaska.
