Council Report # 10
RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR BOB DEGHETTO AS COUNTY
REPRESENTATIVE TO THE HENNEPIN PARKS BOARD
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to
adopt Resolution 93 -3 supporting Mr. Bob DeGhetto for
appointment to a position on the Hennepin County Park Board.
Adoption of this motion will indicate to the Hennepin County
Board of Commissioners the City of Hopkin's support for Mr.
Bob DeGhetto as a County appointed representative to the
Hennepin Parks Board.
The Hennepin County Board is allowed the opportunity to
appoint two representatives to the Hennepin County Parks
Board.
Mr. Bob DeGhetto, former Council member of the City of
Minnetonka has requested the Council's endorsement for one
of these positions.
Staff is recommending that the Council endorse Mr. DeGhetto
and forward the endorsement to Hennepin County.
Primary Issues to Consider
o What process is utilized in the appointment of
Commission members?
Hennepin County Commissioners ask for nominations and
supporting information by people interested in the Hennepin
County Parks positions. The Commissioners then vote on
which two individuals they will appoint to the Hennepin
County Parks Board.
By passing this Resolution, the City of Hopkins will be
endorsing Mr. DeGhetto as a candidate for one of the two
positions.
