CR 93-120 Gambling License Hopkins Jaycees - , July 15, 1993 ~ Council Report 93-120 GAMBLING LICENSE APPLICATION BY THE HOPKINS JAYCEES Pro Dosed Action Staff recommends that the Council approve the following motion: Move that the Hopkins City Council adopt Resolutions #93-75. 76. 77. and 78 approving the gambling license applications of the Hopkins Jaycees. Adoption of this motion will allow the applications to be considered by the Minnesota Department of Gaming. Overview The Hopkins Jaycees have requested a renewal of their gambling licenses for 1993. These licenses allow them to conduct gambling at: 1. 66th Ave. N. 2. Mainstreet Bar & Grill, 814 Mainstreet 3. Lindees, 919 Cambridge St. 4. Mitch's Tavern, 817-819 Mainstreet Primarv Issues to Consider . Do these applications meet the criteria of the City's gambling policy? Yes. . Has the organization conducted its past gambling activities in accordance with state and local laws? Yes. Alternatives: 1. Approve Resolutions #93-75, 76, 77, and 78. This will result in the applications being considered by the Department of Gaming. 2. Do not approve these Resolutions. This will result in the Department of Gaming turning down the licenses. 3. Approve some of the Resolutions and not others. This will result in the Jaycees only being able to conduct gambling operations in certain locations. Staff recommends Alternative # 1. SUDDortinl!
