Staff recommends. adoption of the following motion: Move that the Hopkins City council adopt Resolution #93-18 approvillg the gambling license ap?lication of the Hopkins Jaycees. Adoption of this mottonwill allow the application to be considered by the Minnesota Department of Gaming. overview. The Hopkins Jaycees have requested a gambling license for 1993. This is a new license for their new location at 6 6th Avenue North. The Jaycees are also going to discontinue their pull tab and bingo '. operations at the Boston Subway. Primary Issues to Consider. 0 Does this application meet the criteria of the City'S gambling policy? . Yes. 0 Has the organization conducted its past gambling activities in accordance with state and local laws? Yes. Alternatives: 1) Approve Resolution #93-18. This will .result in the application being considered by the Department of Gaming. 2) Do not approve the Resolution. This will result in the Department of Gaming turning down the license. The attached application for a gambling license is for the building at 6 - 6th AveN. that we recently purchased. We will be selling pulltabs and raffle tickets at our general membership meetings twice a month and at special events. We will not be open and selling to the general public on a regular basis.
