Resolution for award of bid. Elmo Park Chlorine Room Addition". Overview. Bids were opened on April 22, 1993 for the above referenced project. Four bids were received and are tabulated below. The low bidder was Richmar Construction. The Elmo Park Filtration Plant Chlorine Room addition is the first year of a seven year improvement plan for the system. The Chlorine room addition is necessary to comply with state and Federal guidelines for water treatment plants. The attached water system eIP identifies the other improvements of this plan. o Should the bid award be made to Richmar Construction? Richmar Construction necessary equipment project. is a qualified bidder with the and personnel to complete this o Is the bid reasonable? The bid is very reasonable and competi ti ve. The low bid is over $100,000 less than was anticipated by the city's engineer. o How will this project be funded? The project will be funded from water revenues as identified in the 1993-97 City CIP. o When will construction begin? It is presently anticipated that construction will begin around May 4 and be completed by September 15. These errors did not affect the outcome of the bid. We have enclosed a bid tabulation summary as well as the original engineer's estimate for your review. We have contacted Richard Netz at Richmar Construction and he is confident that his firm will complete the work within budget and schedule. Richmar has completed similar work at the Circle Pines Treatment Facility. Additionally, Richmar has performed satisfactory work for one of the project managers on our staff. Civil . THE TOTALS FOR ZASTROW & MERRIMAC ARE CORRECTED FROM THE BID OPENING CITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 93-40 RESOLUTION FOR BID AWARD ELMO PARK FILTRATION PLANT CHLORINE ROOM ADDITION PROJECT NO. 93-02 WHEREAS, bids were received for Chlorine Room addition on April 22, 1993; and WHEREAS, four bids were received and the bid of Richmar Construction in the amount of $284,710 is the lowest reasonable bid for this project. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the city Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Richmar Construction, for and on behalf of the city.
