1992 CITY OF HOPKINS HOUSING ANALYSIS REPORT
Proposed Action
staff recommends approval of the following motion: Adopt
1992 city of Hopkins Housing Analysis Report.
With approval of this action, the report will be formally
adopted and staff will begin implementing the
recommendations as outlined.
overview
In the spring of this year, staff completed and presented to
the Council the 1992 City of Hopkins Housing Analysis. The
analysis is based on 1990 census figures as well as
information obtained from other sources, such as the
Metropolitan Council and past housing studies. Based on
discussions at the Council Worksession, the analysis was
amended to reflect concerns and suggestions of the Council.
The report identifies 7 major housing issues for the City
~ and provides 19 recommendations for addressing these issues.
The report has also been presented to the Planning and
~ Zoning commission for their review as well as to the public
through a summary in the Sailor and through discussions
aired on the local cable station.
In order for the analysis to be a working document for
staff, it should be recognized and adopted by the city
Council. Upon adoption, the recommendations of the report
will begin to be implemented.
