September 9, 1992 o P K \ ~ Council Report #92-188 ~ 1992 CITY OF HOPKINS HOUSING ANALYSIS REPORT Proposed Action staff recommends approval of the following motion: Adopt 1992 city of Hopkins Housing Analysis Report. With approval of this action, the report will be formally adopted and staff will begin implementing the recommendations as outlined. overview In the spring of this year, staff completed and presented to the Council the 1992 City of Hopkins Housing Analysis. The analysis is based on 1990 census figures as well as information obtained from other sources, such as the Metropolitan Council and past housing studies. Based on discussions at the Council Worksession, the analysis was amended to reflect concerns and suggestions of the Council. The report identifies 7 major housing issues for the City ~ and provides 19 recommendations for addressing these issues. The report has also been presented to the Planning and ~ Zoning commission for their review as well as to the public through a summary in the Sailor and through discussions aired on the local cable station. In order for the analysis to be a working document for staff, it should be recognized and adopted by the city Council.
