GAMBLING LICENSE APPLICATION BY
THE CHURCH OF ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST
Proposed Action.
staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that the
Hopkins Citv' Council adopt Resolution #92-4 approvinq the qamblinq
license application of The Church of st. John the Evanqelist.
Adoption of this motion will allow the application to be considered by
the Minnesota Department of Gaming.
Overview.
The Church of st. John the Evangelist has requested a gambling license
for March 1, 1992. This is an annual license that the Church
receives. Gambling will be conducted at 6 Interlachen Road.

Primary Issues to Consider.
o Does this application meet the criteria of the city's gambling
policy?
Yes.
o Has the organization conducted its past gambling activities in
accordance with state and local laws?
Yes.
Alternatives:
1) Approve Resolution #92-4. This will result in the application
being considered by the Department of Gaming.
2) Do not approve the Resolution. This will result in the
Department of Gaming turning down the license.

RESOLUTION NO. 92-4
WHEREAS, The Church of St. John the Evangelist has been .an integral part of the
Hopkins Community, and
WHEREAS, The Church of St. John the Evangelist has applied for gambling license
to conduct lawful gambling in"1992, and
WHEREAS, The Church of St. John the Evangelist has conducted gambling
activities in accordance with state law and Hopkins city policy,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Hopkins hereby approves The Church of St. John the Evangelist gambling
application. .
