JOHN THE EVANGELIST Proposed Action. staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that the Hopkins Citv' Council adopt Resolution #92-4 approvinq the qamblinq license application of The Church of st. John the Evanqelist. Adoption of this motion will allow the application to be considered by the Minnesota Department of Gaming. Overview. The Church of st. John the Evangelist has requested a gambling license for March 1, 1992. This is an annual license that the Church receives. Gambling will be conducted at 6 Interlachen Road. . Primary Issues to Consider. o Does this application meet the criteria of the city's gambling policy? Yes. o Has the organization conducted its past gambling activities in accordance with state and local laws? Yes. Alternatives: 1) Approve Resolution #92-4. This will result in the application being considered by the Department of Gaming. 2) Do not approve the Resolution. This will result in the Department of Gaming turning down the license. staff recommends Alternative #1.
