Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that Council adopt Resolution 92-29. Resolution For Award of Bid. Mainstreet Storm Sewer. citv proiect 90-04. Overview. Council at its March 17 meeting approved plans and specifications for the relocation of storm sewer off the Suburban Chevrolet site onto Mainstreet between 11th and 13th Avenues and authorized bids to be taken for supply of materials. Three bids were submitted at the bid opening of March 30. Primary Issues to Consider. 0 Bid tabulation (see attachment) The low bidder is North Star Concrete at $76,353.00. 0 Is the bid reasonable? The low bid is approximately $450 higher than RLK Associates' estimate provided in the March 17 Council report. RLK has reviewed all bids and bidder qualifications and recommends the contract be awarded to North Star Concrete. Staff concurs with this recommendation. 0 Source of funding TIF funds are available as a source of funding. Three bids were received on this project. All three bids were mathematically correct and all met the provisions of the specifications. Listed below are the three bidders with their respective quotes: North Star Concrete $76,353.00 Elk River Concrete $83,164.50 Royal Concrete Products $108,195.55 After review of the bids, it is our recommendation that the contract be awarded to the low bidder, North Star Concrete, at the April 7 City Council meeting. CITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO.: 92-29 RESOLUTION FOR AWARD OF BID MAINSTREET STORM SEWER CITY PROJECT 90-04 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOPKINS, MINNESOTA, that the bid of North Star Concrete Co. in the amount of $76,353.00 is the lowest responsible bid for the supply of storm sewer concrete pipe, catch basins, manholes and fabricated bends, City Project 90-04, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said bidder for and on behalf of the city.
