Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve the transfer of ownership of Tract A to Mark Z. Jonesahd authorize the Mayor and city Manager to execute the necessary documents. , ' Approval of this motion will complete the overall, transaction of the city of Hopkins purchase of the Mark Z. Jones property located at Cambridge Street and Hiawatha Avenue. overview. Last March, the City council approved a purchase agreement to purchase the Mark Z. Jones property with the exception of the strip of property on the west side' of the site. This property is used by Ramsgate Apartments for parking and is approximately 37 feet wide. This property is described as Tract A on the registered land survey prepared by Jones (see attached). a On 6/29/92 the City purchased the Mark Z. Jones property, including ,., the aforementioned 37 feet with the understanding that the City would transfer back to Mr . Jones this 37 foot wide parcel. This process was used to insure the city owned the property by July 1, thereby ensuring we were not obligated to pay property taxes on the City's parcel for 1993. Mark Z. Jones has prepared a registered land survey for the City property, including the 37 feet to be conveyed back to him. This registered land survey is being processed separately through the .
