All bids were submitted with required bid security and made by
qualified contractors. Reference by other cities and staff's own
knowledge of contractor prompts staff to recommend award of
contract to Bituminous Roadways.
o 1992 Seal Coat Budget
The city has budgeted $56,000 towards the current seal coat
program. The low bid is for bituminous material and aggregate
rock installed. Staff has scaled back slightly on planned
installation and the contracted work will cost approximately
$38,000, based on bid item quotes. The city needs to pay for
aggregate material delivered at a projected cost of $17,000. The
total estimated project cost of $55,000 falls within the budgeted
amount.
