Council Report 92-146 July 13, 1992 I I APPROVE 1992 POLICE OFFICERS' CONTRACT Prooosed Action Staff recommends that the Council approve the following motion: Move aporoval of the 1992 Contract for the Hookins Police Officer's Association. L.E.L.S. Local #151. This action will ratify the 1992 contract for the police officers. Overview We have completed negotiations with the Police officers. The contract calls for a 3% wage increase and an increase of$15.00 per month for health, life, and dental insurance, Primarv Issues to Consider . How does this agreement compare to the amounts budgeted for wage and benefit increases in the 1992 budget? . This agreement exceeds what was budgeted for in the 1992 budget. Adjustments have already been made to the 1992 budget to make up the difference. . How does this agreement compare with cost of living and insurance increases? The cost of living in 1991 was estimated at 3.1 %. This agreement allows for a 3.0% increase. Health insurance rates went up between 9% and IS%. This contract calls for a 6% increase in insurance. . How does this agreement compare with settlements in other cities? 23 cities had settled by the end of March.
