APPROVE 1992 POLICE OFFICERS' CONTRACT
Prooosed Action
Staff recommends that the Council approve the following motion: Move aporoval of the 1992 Contract for the Hookins Police
Officer's Association. L.E.L.S. Local #151.
This action will ratify the 1992 contract for the police officers.
Overview
We have completed negotiations with the Police officers. The contract calls for a 3% wage increase and an increase of$15.00 per
month for health, life, and dental insurance,

. This agreement exceeds what was budgeted for in the 1992 budget. Adjustments have already been made to the 1992
budget to make up the difference.

The cost of living in 1991 was estimated at 3.1 %. This agreement allows for a 3.0% increase. Health insurance rates
went up between 9% and IS%. This contract calls for a 6% increase in insurance.
. How does this agreement compare with settlements in other cities?
23 cities had settled by the end of March. The average wage increase was slightly higher than 3% and the average
insurance contribution was slightly lower than $275.00.
