o projeot oosts and future assessments
using Gunderson Brothers Cement bid as the basis for
calculating special assessments, we can assume assessments
will be slightly lower than those estimated in the
feasibility study.
o Staff reoommendation
only one bid was received and tabulated. Staff consulted
the City's attorney to review statutes as they relate to
competitive bidding. He recommended opening the bid and
comparing the results to the engineer's estimate as a test
for reasonableness. Nothing in the state statutes
precludes award of bid to a sole bidder.
Staff has reviewed the bid and Gunderson's qualifications.
The contractor has a superb reputation and has a good work
record in past Hopkins projects. Staff recommends award
of bid to Gunderson Brothers Cement Contractors.
