CR 98-126 Appointment Of Election Judges 1997 Gen Munic ElectionSeptember 16, 1997 Council Report 97 -160 Staff recommends approval of the following motion: Move to approve the following persons to serve as Election Judges for the 1997 General Municipal Elections. Election Judge Chair Persons will receive $7.00 per hour and all other Election Judges will receive $6.50 per hour as compensation. Approval of the Election Judges will staff the precincts for Election Day and determine the wage to be paid. Overview State Statutes require that Election Judges be appointed by the City Council and that compensation for serving as such be set by the City Council. All precients will have four judges. State Statutes require that three judges be present in the precinct at all times. The Absentee Ballot Board will prepare the absentee ballots for the precincts. Four judges will be required to go to the Nursing Homes. One judge will be trained as an alternate to replace any who at the last moment cannot work on Election Day. Primary Issues to Consider • The Hopkins School and the St. Louis Park.
