Supporting Information. • Resolution 98 -059 James Gessele Engineering Superintendent APPROVE FINAL PAYMENT ALLEY PROJECT 97 -16 Council Report No. 98 -146 Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that Council adopt Resolution 98 -059, Resolution Accepting Work and Ordering Final Payment, 1998 Alley Improvements. The contractor has completed work associated with reconstructing the alley between the Hopkins Center for the Arts and the US West Building. The contractor has performed on punch list items to the City's satisfaction. Accepting work and final payment The contractor has met his contract work obligations. The work is done satisfactorily. The total construction contract cost, including the negative net sum compensating change order, amounted to $56,360.89. This compares to the original contract amount of $57,549.50. • Procedures Documents still needed are lien wavers, IC -134 withholding forms and a signed Certificate of Final Completion. The contractor is currently gathering that information. Staff recommends approval of final payment with a check tendered upon receipt of the above documents. • Resolution 98 -059 Adoption of this resolution formally acknowledges completion of work, orders final payment and initiates a specified warranty period on the contract work. CITY OF HOPKINS HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA ATTEST: RESOLUTION NO: 98 -059 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK & ORDERING FINAL PAYMENT - 1998 ALLEY IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract signed with the City on May•20, 1998, Gunderson Brothers Cement, Inc. has satisfactorily completed the improvement of alley reconstruction, commonly known as City Project 97 -16, in accordance with such contract. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota: 1.The work completed under said contract is hereby accepted and approved. 2.Order for final payment on such contract is hereby ordered, taking the contractor's receipt in full. 3.The specified warranty period on contract work shall commence upon the adoption of this resolution.
