CR 99-82 Approve Final Payment - Storm Sewer CITY Ot: - HOPKINS . April 28, 1999 Council Report 99-082 APPROVE FINAL PAYMENT STORM SEWER PROJECT 97-15 Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that Council adopt Resolution 99-034, Resolution Accepting Work and Ordering Final Payment, Storm Sewer Project 97-15. Overview The contractor has completed miscellaneous storm sewer improvements in the alley south of 1st Street North between 17th/18th Avenue and at the end of 13th Avenue North (north of Maetzold Field) . Jay Bros., Inc. has performed on punch list items to the engineer's satisfaction and the consultant recommends final payment. Primary Issues to Consider . . Accepting work and final payment The contractor has met all contract obligations. The work 1S done satisfactorily and the contractor has submitted necessary lien waivers and forms IC-134. A signed certification of completion is forthcoming. Staff recommends approval of final payment. . Resolution 99-034 Adoption of this resolution formally acknowledges completion of the work, orders final payment, and initiates a one-year warranty on the contract work. Supporting Information . CITY OF HOPKINS HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO 99-034 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK AND ORDERING FINAL PAYMENT- STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT 97-15 WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract signed with the City on July 22, 1998, Jay Bros., Inc. has satisfactorily completed storm sewer improvements on 1st Street North and 13th Avenue North, commonly known as City Project 97-15 in accordance with such contract, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF HOPKINS, MINNESOTA: 1. The work completed under said contract is hereby declared accepted and approved. 2. Order for final payment on such contract is hereby ordered, taking the contractor's receipt in full. . 3. A one-year warranty on contract work shall commence as of this resolution. Adoption by the City Council of Hopkins, Minnesota this 4th day of May, 1999. Charles D.
