MOTION TO Adopt Resolution 2025-064 Canceling a Special Assessment for 209 8th
Avenue N, PID 24-117-22-13-0066
OVERVIEW
In 2023, a diseased tree removal was performed at 209 8th Avenue N, PID 24-117-22-
13-0066. Council adopted Resolution 2023-047 approving special assessments for
diseased tree removal on private property. Due to a clerical error, the above property
was mistakenly included in the assessment roll despite the property owner having paid
the contractor directly for the work done.
Hennepin County requires a resolution of cancelation to remove the levied amount from
the property’s tax bill.

RESOLUTION 2025-064
CANCELATION OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT
WHEREAS, Resolution 2023-047 was adopted on November 21, 2023, approving
special assessments for diseased tree removals at certain properties; and
WHEREAS, property identification number 24-117-22-13-0066 was included in the
assessment roll and an assessment of $3,387.04 was levied; and
WHEREAS, the property owner had previously paid the contractor in full and the
property mistakenly remained on the assessment roll,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Hopkins
hereby orders the cancelation of this special assessment.
