Proposed Action
Staff recommends that the Council approve the following motion: Move that the Hopkins City Council adopt
Resolution #96 -72 approving the Premise Permit Application of the Hopkins Jaycees to conduct lawful
,gambling at BW3.
Adoption of this motion will allow the application to be considered by the Minnesota Department of Gaming.
Overview
The Hopkins Jaycees want to conduct lawful gambling at the BW3 restaurant, 503 N. Blake Road. They have
completed a State of Minnesota Premises Permit Application. This application identifies the organization that
wants to conduct gambling, the location, or premise, where gambling will take place, and the type of gambling
that will be conducted. Prior to submitting this application to the State of Minnesota the Jaycees must obtain
a resolution from the City which supports their application.

Yes.
• Has the organization conducted its past gambling activities in accordance with state and local laws?
Yes.
Alternatives
1. Approve Resolution #96 - 72. This will result in the application being considered by the Department of
Gaming.
2. Do not approve this Resolution. This will result in the Department of Gaming turning down the
license.

WHEREAS, the Hopkins Jaycees have been an integral part of the Hopkins Community, and
WHEREAS, the Hopkins Jaycees have made application to conduct lawful gambling in 1996, and
WHEREAS, the Hopkins Jaycees have conducted gambling activities in accordance with state law and
Hopkins city policy,
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins this 15th day of October, 1996.
