Council Report 96 -165
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING 5 STREET SOUTH PARKING
RESTRICTIONS
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: "Move that Council
approve Resolution 96 -82, Resolution designating parking restrictions on the
south side of 5 Street South just east of the intersection with 6 Street South
and 10 Avenue South."
Staff has received numerous requests from residents in the Peaceful Valley
neighborhood to prohibit parking on the area of 5 Street South described
above. Staff has monitored the area and agrees that there are times when
parked cars and trucks cause an unsafe vision obstruction for westbound 6
Street South motorists.
Two signs have been installed between the intersection and the first parking
lot entrance to the Westside Business Park.
Steven J. Stadler, Director of Public Works
WHEREAS, visibility of cross traffic problems exist at the
intersection of 5th Street South and 6th Street South and
10th Avenue South, and
WHEREAS, there is difficulty safely driving westbound on 6th
Street South at this intersection,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOPKINS,
MINNESOTA:
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins this 15th Day
of October, 1996.
ATTEST:
