January 8, 1991 Council Rpt.91-18
ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR HEALTH INSPECTOR
Proposed Action
The Building Inspection Dept. recommends the adoption of the following
motion: Move approval of the 1991 contract with Immanuel F. Roesler to
provide professional sanitation services as presented.
By approving this resolution, the city council will be continuing
professional services with the current health inspector for 1991. The
contract grants Mr. Roesler a 4% cost of living adjustment retroactive
to January 1, 1991.
Overview
The contract with the city health inspector expires yearly December
31st and must be renegotiated. Mr. Roesler's current contract expired
December 31, 1990.
A 4% cost of living adjustment has been negotiated and would be
. retroactive to cover the period of the contract from December 31, 1990
to December 31, 1991.
In order to continue the program of inspection of restaurants, hotels,
food facilities, and the ability to respond to citizen complaints on
general trash and garbage nuisances, it is necessary to maintain a
health inspector.
Primary Issues to Consider
0 What alternatives does the city council have?
Approve the contract for professional services with Mr. Roesler as
presented.
Do not approve the contract and request the city staff renegotiate the
