Analysis of Issues
0 Is the Custom Fire Apparatus bid competitive and in the best
interest of the city of Hopkins?
The current Heavy Rescue Truck operated by the Fire Department is 12
years old. The truck does not meet the needs of the department and
should be replaced. The replacement truck is planned to meet the needs
of the department for the next 25 years.
The Truck is similar to trucks operated by other cities in our area
and staff feels this is a competitive price and a quality fire
apparatus.
0 How will the Heavy Rescue Truck be funded?
The truck is on the equipment replacement schedule for replacement
. this year, 1991. The net amount budgeted is $175,000.00. We are
requesting an additional $5,560.00 to fund this purchase.
