Resolution Ordering Assessment Roll
Mainstreet
Proposed Action.
Staff recommends the following motion: Move that Council
adopt Resolution 91-39. Resolution Orderinq Preparation of
Assessment Roll - Mainstreet.
This action initiates the process of calculating the
individual lot assessments and preparing an assessment roll.
Overview.
Currently the Mainstreet reconstruction project is in the
bidding phase. The bid opening is scheduled for April 12
with separate bids received for the following:
street construction (curbing and surfacing)
utilities (sanitary sewer, water main and storm sewer)
~. Traffic signals
street lighting
Landscape amenities (sidewalk, pavers, tree grates and
planters
Plaza and trees
The assessment roll will be based upon the lowest
responsible bid for each category plus overhead costs.
Staff anticipates returning to Council at its April 16
meeting with the roll and recommending an assessment hearing
date.

RESOLUTION NO: 91-39
RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF ASSESSMENT ROLL -
MAINSTREET
WHEREAS, the City Clerk and the City's designated engineer,
Westwood Professional Services, Inc., will receive
bids on April 12, 1991, for the improvement of
Mainstreet from 5th Avenue to Shady Oak Road, city
Project 90-04.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
HOPKINS, MINNESOTA:
1- The engineering superintendent shall, subsequent
to receiving bids, calculate the proper amount to
be specially assessed for such improvement against
every assessable lot, piece or parcel of land
abutting on the streets affected, without regard
to cash valuation as provided by law.
2. The engineering superintendent shall file a copy
of such proposed assessments in the city office
for inspection and shall notify the Council
thereof.
Adopted by the city council of the City of Hopkins,
Minnesota, this 2nd day of April, 1991-
