CENTRAL PARK LIGHTING PROJECT
Proposed Action.
staff recommends adopting the following motion: "Award the contract
for installation of the Central Park liahtina proiect to Electric
Systems of Anoka in the amount of $55.690.00".
Overview.
As part of the 1988 bond referendum, a master plan for, Central Park
was approved by the City which included phasing the park improvements
over a three year period. As Council is aware the city received a
grant from the Department of Trade and Economic Development in the
amount of $110,000 for the upgrading of Central Park. One of the
improvements scheduled for' the second year at this park was
installation of pedestrian level lights, hockey rink lights 'and
softball field lights. .
Bids for the lighting project were received and opened on May 23,
1991. Bid results were as follows;

The amount estimated for this' park improvement was $66,000. Electric
Systems submitted the low bid of $55,690.

Electric Systems of Anoka was one of two bidders on this project.
All bids were submitted with required bid security and made by
qualified contractors.

Electric Systems of Anoka has installed/completed athletic field lighting
(specifically in, but not limited to, Anoka, Minnetonka, Barnsville) and we
are comfortable with them.
. '
They are confident in their approach to mounting the new fixtures at the tops
of the existing poles. The pole height doesn't bother them, and they have the
equipment to complete the job.
